You say you love me you say that you care but all this seems to be some game you play Well there’s no one to turn to and I’m hurting inside It hurts so bad all I want is a place to hide I remember the sunrise on that summers’ day the same day love packed up and went away my heart is all broken and scattered on the floor I’m picking up the pieces and I’m walking through that door NEVER GIVE UP - don’t stop - NEVER GIVE UP I can live without you I know that I’m strong I’d rather be alone than have you do me wrong Well there’s no turning back I’ve got myself together Let the light shine bright let it shine forever You see my friends I’ve come a long long way I wish you well that’s all I have to say I’m the captain of my ship and I face all kinds of weather And if you believe it will all fall together NEVER GIVE UP - don’t stop - NEVER GIVE UP Well I was feeling down down down where were you you were out of town Never there when my morale is like a weeping willow Never there when I’m alone crying on my pillow Now I know that my strength lies in my own quest I can live without you yes I do my best there’s no more room for you in my song I’ll forget all about you and it won’t be long NEVER GIVE UP - don’t stop - NEVER GIVE UP

Rutendo do you remember When the fire shone in your eyes So much anger so much sadness In the madman’s paradise We tried to make it leant on each other But days were riddled with goodbyes Rutendo, Rutendo, Shamwari yangu Rutendo do you remember The southern sunset in the skies So much anger, so much sadness Apartheid knots and racial lies But we held on to each other Cause days were riddled with goodbyes Rutendo, Rutendo, Shamwari yangu We’re walking alone ... Trying to make sense... You’re stepping on my soul... They’re trying to take control... They’re selling human souls In the madman’s paradise They’re selling human souls ... Going crazy ... They’re taking all the land... They’re out of control... Going crazy In the madman’s paradise Somebody else’s hell

Everyday 03:52
Every Day, Every Day, Every day in all ways I get stronger Every day in all ways I get closer Every day in all ways I get better Every Day, Every Day, There is nothing they can do to make me fall Believe in yourself and you’ll stand tall There is nothing they can do to make me tumble And there is nothing they can say to make me crumble Every Day, Every Day, Every Day I take a step forward and remind myself what I’m walking toward Every Day I focus on my dream no matter how hard it might seem Every Day, Every Day, Every day in all ways I get stronger Every day in all ways I get closer Every day in all ways I get better Every Day, Every Day, There is nothing they can do to make me fall Believe in yourself and you’ll stand tall There is nothing they can do to make me tumble And there is nothing they can say to make me crumble Every day in all ways I get stronger Every day in all ways I get closer Every day in all ways I get better Every Day, Every Day

Something 04:11
I need something to believe in Something I can hold on to Cause my world is turning round and round I don’t know if I’m lost or found I need something to believe in Something to hold on to Something, something, something Something, something, something Something to hold on to Something to hold on to We all need something to believe in Something we can hold on to Cause it’s dog eat dog no friend in sight If you reach out they’ll only bite We all need something to believe in Something to hold on to Some people aren’t worth the time They’ll even turn honey into lime So you’d better make your dreams come true Apply yourself in all you do We all need something to believe in Something to hold on to

Welcome welcome to no man’s land Welcome welcome to no man’s land There is no justice in no man’s land No no law and order in no man’s land Welcome welcome to noman’s land They set their dogs on you You call the police They say ain’t nothing they can do They set their dogs on you You call the mayor He says ain’t nothing he can do Hell hell hell welcome welcome to no man’s land Welcome welcome to no man’s land There is no justice in no man’s land No law and order in no man’s land You even get attacked On your way home from work in no man’s land They even attack an 80 yr old woman In no man’s land They set their dogs on you You call the police They say ain’t nothing they can do They set their dogs on you You call the mayor He says ain’t nothing he can do No man’s land is on an international border Despite this fact there is no law and order There’s nobody to apply the law And when you are in danger and you call them They ask what are you calling for Welcome welcome to no man’s land

When your heart’s in trouble When you need a friend There’s no one to turn to You think this is the end Guardian Angel are you still there Can you hear me do you really care Just look around they’ve gone much too far Sacrifice of the human star Your hero’s a regional looter a buffoon a trigger-happy shooter Don’t let them take control Don’t let them take your soul I’ll be there - I’ll be there If you need a friend - I’ll be there Well it’s lonely out there cause I’ve proved them all wrong yes they are green with envy cause Madonna sings my song Heaven knows I’ve been trying so hard tried everything even played my last card Forget about them and leave them behind Don’t let them sabotage your mind Stick to your dream make it come true Brush off parasites that stick to you As soon as you clean up the mess You’ll move forward you’ll be a success, cause I’ll be there - I’ll be there If you need a friend - I’ll be there I’ll be there to encourage you I’ll be there when you’re feeling blue I’ll be there to brighten your day I’ll be there I’ll be there I say

I know the road is long my friend But you’ve got to keep on walking till the end Sometimes things are rough and tough Some days you think you’ve had enough But when evening comes look at the stars Cause I’ll be playing my music up on mars I’ll be space walking You’ve got to keep on walking I guess you’ve been to places that hurt And I know these emotions feel like dirt We’ve been walking for thousands of years Cried so much we drown in our own tears But when evening comes look at the stars They’ll be playing my music up on Mars I’ll be space walking You’ve got to keep on walking I’ll send you a postcard from the moon Oh yes I’ll send you kisses from the stars Cause I’ll be playing my music up on Mars Space walking R-E-S-P-E-C-T Is all I ever wanted for me Just a bit of respect and human dignity What happened to human rights (somebody) What happened to law and order (anybody) What happened to respect, Nelson Mandela Can you tell me now can you tell me now I know the road is long my friend But you’ve got to keep on walking till the end

about

The Album PRINCESS DOROTHY
is a profound Soul/World fusion of inter-cultural grooves.
It opens with a funky uptempo multiracial militant anthem “Mixed & Others” followed by
“Never Give Up” a mid-tempo song about empowerment. “Madman’s Paradise” is a poetic ballad. “Every Day” throbs with dance-beat incantations, then she bursts into “Something” a catchy song of self belief. The moving vocal-double bass duet “No Man’s Land” magnifies Princess Dorothy’s expressive voice. “Everybody’s got the Blues” whips up heart-throbbing interaction between vocals and guitar. “I’ll be There” a song about her guardian angels leads into uptempo festive grooves with reggae undertones. “Got to be Strong” is a gospel style crescendo encouragement song that makes your soul dance and move into a state of trance. The album ends with an ethereal ballad called “Space Walking.” Wow!
